Life Reflections

Susie Lee Lawson , 67 of Brooklyn, NY departed peacefully with her daughter and sister at her side on August 24, 2015. She was a Brooklyn native and the daughter of the late Samuel and Cora Roberson of Georgia. Susie was the sixth child of eleven children.



Susie Lawson married the late Ernest James Lawson, in Brooklyn New York On December 19, 1963. Together, they had four beautiful children. Ernest Jr., Deborah, Regina and Susie (Son in-law Ulysses 3rd.). In Addition, later in life, Susie gave birth to her baby boy Luther and added four more children to the family: Allen, Charlie, Charisse, and Donavan. Susie also had honorary daughters and sons that she loved as well; Valerie, Diane, Gabby, and son Hikeem Allen.



Susie was employed with New York City Housing Authority as a Receptionist for over 20 years until she retired in May, 2013. She also was a foster parent for over 30 years with Angel Guardian. She helped raised and made the difference in over 40 children lives throughout the years.



Susie was a loving and devoted mother, sister, aunt, and friend. She had a sense of humor and a laugh that was contagious. Her loyalty and unselfish heart were embraced by all who had the opportunity to be in her presence.



In addition, to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Jean Baker, Onnie Dunham, Olivia Roberson, and June Roberson; brother, Ernest Roberson and beloved niece Robin Roberson (aka, Porky)

She leaves to cherish fond memories, her longtime companion, Ben Dennison, and her sisters, Johnnie Mae, Lucille, Barbara, and Delores, and brother Eddie. Her grandchildren, Ciera, Shaleaha, Rashad, Tatiana, Jaylen, Justin, Mekkhai, Brandon, Jordan, Elijah, 5 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends, among them, Richard, Nigel. Kim, Sonora, Taquana, Patricia Cooper, and LaRuth Johnson.
